Electric cars for portugal

Renault-nissan and the portuguese government have signed an agreement on the "request of the emission-free mobility" in portugal on wednesday. The agreement therefore provides for renault-nissan from 2011 production vehicles with electric drive in portugal will distribute.

The portuguese government is intended to investigate what conditions are to be created in order to make emission-free vehicles attractive for customers, which infrastructures and partner organizations are required to establish a nationwide network of charging stations and which communication measures are most effective to raise awareness of electric vehicles to sharp.

Portugal prime minister jose socrates said: "portugal has become one of the leading countries in renewable energies. By the agreement with the renault-nissan allianz, portugal also reaches the first row in the field of sustainable mobility with emission-free vehicles ". Renault-nissan boss carlos ghosn believes that in view of the rising olpreis and the worries about co2 emissions "the final solution for a sustainable solution in the flat-covered use of emission-free vehicles consists".

According to israel and danemark, portugal is now the third country in which renault-nissan had to establish electric vehicles. However, there is a striking difference: during both countries, the us company "project better place" should provide for the infrastructure, portugal is leaving premately, who builds the network of charging stations or how the infrastructure will look like. Media reports, according to which portugal is also in agreement with better place, do not accelerate.

Only a few weeks ago wolfgang steiger, chief of drive research at volkswagen, doubled in an interview that the tarpaulin for a network of rechargeable battery charging and exchange stations should be easily implemented. The exchange of batteries probably fails in relatively simple problems such as their high weight or difficulty to separate 400 volts in everyday life.

In portugal, the prerequisites for use of solar energy are natural. Now it will be interesting to observe whether the portuguese government finds new approaches for the "refueling" of the electric vehicles, or as well reported for cooperation with project better place decides. That renault-nissan has nothing to say about it is at least surprising.
